Canadians can’t wait.
AND WE SHOULDN’T HAVE TO.
The Problem
Canadians wait more than two years to access new medicines through public drug plans. That’s a year longer than wait times in most other peer countries.
We need to eliminate delays in the process.
The time is now
Canada has fallen behind on the world stage.
When it comes to accessing new medicines:
which means
Provinces and Territories need to be part of the solution.
And provide faster access
to innovative treatments
for Canadians.
It takes two years for a Health Canada-approved drug to go through health technology assessments and drug pricing negotiations. But the delays don’t stop there. Provinces take anywhere from 44 days to 662 days to list the drug on their plans.
drug listings within 30 days
should be the norm.
We need your help.
We’re building a community of engaged Canadians who agree
we can’t – and shouldn’t – wait longer than patients in other countries to access new treatments.
